Why Resilience?

Nobody makes it through life unscathed. We all get knocked down, experience the pain of rejection, and taste the bitterness of failure. I believe that everyone can persevere and overcome these obstacles, but sometimes we need help.

I chose the name “Resilience Counseling” because I want to help you become the person you want to be and ultimately equip you with the tools to move forward even stronger.

It’s About You

You can only give so much of yourself before you are empty.

I can’t count the number of times someone has told me they didn’t reach out for help sooner because they felt selfish for even considering it. So, I want to make something clear:

IT’S OKAY FOR IT TO BE ABOUT YOU!

You are allowed to have wants and needs. You can take for yourself what you need, whether that be time alone, a vacation, saying “no” to helping that friend or family member, and even coming to counseling.

I’m here to help you learn the beauty that can come from having time and space where it’s all about you.

I See You

I know how much courage it takes to reach out and ask for help, and I want to commend you already for even considering reaching out.

By visiting this website, you’ve already shown that you possess some resilience, and I want to help you tap into it even more.

I understand that the prospect of sharing your story with someone you don’t know is scary, so I want to help you get to know me better to make it a little easier.

Get to Know Me

I am Andrew Arnold. I decided to become a counselor while working a dead end customer service position in 2013, and began my education in 2014. After gaining experience in another private practice as well as multiple psychiatric hospitals I decided to open Resilience Counseling in 2018.

I ascribe to the belief that good counselors seek counseling. We shouldn’t ask anyone else to be in counseling if we’re unwilling to do it ourselves. It is part of my commitment to my clients that I also attend therapy to be as healthy as possible.

Currently, I live with my two dogs, Huxley and Haddie. Huxley is a little brown mutt and he will do many tricks for treats! Haddie is a Golden Retriever mix that loves to play fetch. Ask me and I will proudly show you pictures!

Andrew Arnold, MA, LCPC, LMAC

I am passionate about helping others find hope and healing. Since 2016, I have been a licensed counselor and have gained a wealth of experience over the last seven years. I became an EMDR Level II trained provider in 2015. Additionally, I have provided DBT-informed treatment in individual and group settings from 2016 to 2018. Finally, I received my clinical level license in counseling (LCPC), as well as my addiction counseling license (LMAC), in 2019.

After graduation I worked in private practice and soon after began working in inpatient psychiatric hospitals. In 2018 I opened Resilience Counseling. Since that time, I have been excited to watch it grow over the past several years. In 2020, I left my hospital job and now focus solely on working with my clients and growing Resilience Counseling.
